Last week we had our Open day and due to capacity in previous years this year it was held at Chirton Lodge, Anchor Trust and our thanks go to Natalie for allowing us to use the lounge. This venue proved much more suitable and meant several of the residents were able to join us. The Open day was attended by over 50 people and included local residents, representatives from; partnership agencies, North Tyneside Council, funders, voluntary and statutory organisations and young people.
We launched our latest annual report (which we be available on the website soon) and had; presentations about different examples of our work over the last 12 months and showed films about mental health, skate park and journey to employment residential. Young people were presented with certificates they had gained through being involved with the Phoenix Construction scheme and we presented Carney Consultancy Ltd with Investors in Young people award (local business), Christine and Billy Walker the award for Outstanding Partner locally that has invested in young people and Ryan Wright with the Reece Allen award.
Young people also spoke about their involvement with us over the last year and the event was finished by Hafsa reading a poem she had written and Liam performing 2 songs he had written.
Thank you to everyone who attended and supports the work of Phoenix DYP and we look forward to another busy and successful year.
