Well, its that time of year again, where i get myself in gear and actually update the blogs on a semi regular basis, or as its actually known, the six weeks summer holiday, and this years is a busy and fun one by the looks of it with varied and exciting projects.
Monday saw the first of several residential as Helping hands went to Middleton in Teesdale for the night (see previous blog). Meanwhile it was all hands on deck in the office as we continued our 1 to 1 work and on monday evening took some of our young people to discuss with the other agencies, what they would like to see happen in the area.
Tuesday saw the return of the helping hands group from their residential and a newer group visited Inflataspace for a jump session. The activities went really well and all had fun.
Wednesday did not see us slowing down as The Girls group visited Kirkley Hall for the day, getting to explore the Zoo.
Thursday was a nonstop day as we had the new candidates for the Phoenix Construction Scheme attend a team building and rock climbing day, with such tasks as build a 7ft structure and can you create something to protect and egg as its thrown 2 meters. After this we had an extened Helping Hands session playing board cames, including Uno and One about rustling wallace and gromits sheep.
Friday has seen us planning several additional activities and sees us visit Gravity force (no doubt one of many) for the first time.
the summer has started as we hoped, busy as ever, and looking at the diary, it has no signs of slowing up. Heres to six of the maddest but most enjoyable weeks of the working year
