Workers at a civil engineering company
have taken to the tracks for charity.
Employees from the Owen Pugh Group
based in Dudley took on youngsters
involved with the Phoenix Detached Youth
Project in North Tyneside on the go-karting
circuit at Karting North East in Sunderland.
PDYP has worked with 13 to 25-year-olds
to develop ideas and give informal
education. The engineering firm has been a
supporter of the PDYP since 2010.
John Dickinson, chairman of Owen Pugh
said: “The go-kart challenge is about
engaging with those who we support, and if
we can have fun at the same time, then why
not?”
Mike Burgess, project manager at PDYP
said he was delighted with the support.
