A family day at Beamish

two of the parents with their son

The PDYP took the young parents group to beamish which is filled with lots of historic features such as a school, A mine, houses and  a fish and chip shop. it was great to show our children how they lived a long time ago e.g what they used to play with, ride on (trams), learn and live. everyone loved how outdoorsy it was and seeing the animals. We had the chance to look around the town centre which had a bank (Barclays), post office, bakery sweet shop and photo shop. there were actors showing how they did things back in time. It was a great day out for the parents and kids (who all fell asleep on the bus back). The phoenix gave us that family day we have needed to spend time together. With money really limited, we dont get the chance to do anything nice, especialy stuff with the added bonus of meeting friends and socialising both us and all the kids. If it wasnt for the Chapman fund and the Phoenix being here, we would never be able to spend time as a family or meet new friends, so this really means alot to us all.
