Helping hands

Helping hands

As a result of everything the Helping hands groups have achieved we held a celebration event to showcase young people's work and to highlight the nature and need for Helping hands. The event was well attended by young people, their parents and professionals from a wide range of agencies. Yvonne Collins from the national charity Young Minds opened the celebrations and this was followed by a presentation from a group member, and examples of things the different groups have been involved with. This included the unveiling of a mosaic table featuring the groups logo, showing of the helping hands DVD to be given to new referrals, and hoodies, leaflets and bags all designed by the group to be used as promotional materials. The young people also worked on designing a display for the project window and over the coming year have committed to raising awareness and importance of young peoples mental health and well being.
Helping hands is a partnership between ourselves and North Tyneside Council's Connexions service and is for young people across the Borough.

The DVD and leaflet will soon be available to download on our website.
