Well week 2 is wrapping up and to no ones surprise, its been another busy one.
Monday saw 4 activities run through the day. We had helping hands and kirkley hall zoo, an amazing place where young people can see a variety of animals. Meanwhile we ran The first of 2 Phoenix Bowl Family Fundays which saw over 60 young people benefit from a range of fun activities and giveaways at the phoenix bowl. after this it was the turn of the Lions and Butterlies who had a fun session of Badminton at the parks, followed by a quick dash back to the office to pick up a group who went trampolining and presented their keyfund panel.
Tuesday was our construction day. This week saw the young people bond with some team challenges in the kayaks. It may have rained but when your in the sea, that doesn't matter, and the sun came out in the end.
Wednesday saw our Intergen trip where young people and older (not just mike) went to Seahouses where they discussed the differences in what they experienced growing up, all while enjoying a chippy lunch and a game of mini golf.
Thursdaywas varied with some one to one work and Helping Hands referrals in the morning. The afternoon saw us run a multi sports event at Percy Main Primary school with Active North Tyneside, while the ToGetHer group and Mams group had a great session at Pots N Pancakes. Following this we had some helping hands young people planning an upcoming project before testing their skills at the Pirate Escape room.
Friday has had less of the excitement as its been a day of chasing up and prepping as we head into week 3... The Residential week plus other activities..cos ya know, we like to cram in as much as possible
