Well as we head into week 5 i cant help but look at week 4 and think "how did we cram all that in"
Monday saw us in at 8am to take a mixed group to flamingo land as part of a project they took part in looking at social media. while there they got to go on the different rides including getting soaked on the log flume and screaming with joy and fear on the Cliffhanger. It was an all round great day for everyone.
Tuesday was a good day by my standards as i spent most of it in a wetsuit. The morning/afternoon saw us at adventure sunderland with the sports development team, we spent the afternoon kayaking to the glass centre and back and playing some daft games, like who could stand up in their kayaks. After this it was back to North Shields where we had a group kayaking at cullercoats and tynemouth longsands. The group had an awesome night surfing the waves and enjoying the sunshine.
Wednesday saw 2 helping hands groups on activities, the constructions schemes 4th week of team building and our first (of many) visits to a new trampoline park. so where to begin. First we had helping hands visit kirkley hall and get to see a range of animals including reptiles and meerkats. one young person loved it so much they are considering it as a career. The second group did some cooking in the office making omelettes. The construction group spent the full day team building. they started off with quaser in the morning and despite a valiant effort, couldnt beat me, (mike however lost, claiming his gun was broken) then they spent the afternoon climbing at the climbing centre in Byker. The day was a success and we are one week closer to the start of our construction scheme. Then the evening saw the super tramps heading to XtremeBounce to try it out. They enjoyed the Ninja warrior run that it has and found it something new compared to the other parks.
Thursday was a triple day for us with groups at pots and pancakes, ZaZa Bazaar and another trip to XtremeBounce. Helping hands had a great time at Pots and Pancakes. While there they got the chance to chat while having a relaxing time painting pottery together. Once their session ended it was time for the second helping hands group of the day to visit ZaZa Bazaar. This is a buffet style restaurant with a range of different foods you can try, with one young person deciding to try fish chips and ice cream on the same plate. The final activity of the day saw us going back to XtremeBounce with a group while planning how they would spend the keyfund money they had successfully raised.
All this is while maintaining our 1 to 1 support and crisis work
