Chemical Guinea Pigs officially becomes an Award Winning Film

Well, on thursday night the The Chemical Guinea Pigs film won the Youth Media Award at the Youth Focus PoSBO Awards. The film which was written, produced and starred the PDYP's very own Emma Burgess (no relation to Mike!) and Laurie Doyle Davies, was created after they had some negative experiences of their friends getting caught up in "legal highs".
Through support from the PDYP and VODA they were able to go on a journey of discovery, finding out what legal highs were, why people took them and most importantly, how to be safe. The girls travelled as far a field as Edinburgh to visit Crew 2000 to build their knowledge before creating the film.
Then after some intense writing and several redrafts, they finally had a script they were happy to put on digital film. They spent months creating it, spending their own free time making sure it came out how they wanted it, and we are over the moon to see how positively the project has been received by young people, youth workers and a large range of other professionals.

Well done girls and everyone else involved.
