PDYP Xmas Party

PDYP Xmas Party

"HoHoHo" "abracadabra" "Its Santa!!!" were just some of the things that people where saying at the PDYP's Xmas party. The event saw 41 young parents and their children enjoying an afternoon of arts and crafts, magic and even a special visit off Santa.

The event started at 3:30pm with arts and craft. There was an impromtu karaoke session provided by magic John before a tasty tea featuring lots of fruit and cakes Mmmmm.

After tea everyone was treat to a fantastical display of Magic and slight of hand by Magic John. He even created enough balloon animals and other balloon sculptures so that everyone went away with a smile on their face (other than myself who spent the whole time with my fingers in my ears, trying to block out to sound of the balloons squeeking).
After Magic John wrapped up his display with his now famous snowing confetti we heard the sound of bells jingling, which could only mean one thing. SANTA!!! had arrived and he timed it perfectly to when the magic show ended. The kids loved seeing him and getting photos and telling him what they would like for christmas.

As Santa was leaving he let everyone know that thanks to money from ISOS housing, there were special presents for everyone, including the parents, as a thankyou for being involved in the pdyp (see, even Santa likes us).

After everyone left it was time for santas little elves (the pdyp and St Johns church staff) to give the place a clean. We introduced our Student Lizzie to the Hoover and the equally famous job of cleaning up the aftermath of Magic John's famous Snowing Confetti haha (if you check our Facebook, we have photographic proof of this).

The event was a huge success and we would like to thank ISOS housing for funding the event, St Johns Church for allowing us to use their venue, Magic John, Santa and everyone who showed up and made the event so brilliant.
Heres to Next year.
