Six successful young people have been selected to take part in the Phoenix Construction Scheme after a selection process looking at hand skills and working effectively in teams over the summer. This dynamic group of young people have been attending Norham Skills Centre for three days a week while working towards their level one in carpentry and joinery.
We are looking for construction companies to offer site placements with for four young people on a try before you buy scheme.
We will provide support via a mentor (youth worker/joiner) to support the young peoples development leaving companies a hassle free process in which they can focus on the skills development of the motivated young people. Owen Pugh Holdings LTD are one of our partners and supporting the group with health and safety courses and providing placements for two additional young people.
