Phoenix fishing is of to Norway

The North Atlantic Ocean is our largest food chamber. To prevent it from being destroyed by pollution, over fishing and be able to give food for future generations, the project “Catch a fish” will give the participant the opportunity to learn more how to keep it that way by learning more about the life in the sea.

Participants will be youngsters from 13 - 25 from Spain, France, Lithuania, Poland, Norway, England.

Every partner has to bring fishing equipment from their region for catching fish in Norway. The results will be carefully measured, weight and prepared as food for the participants, and register what kind of fishing tools are the best for costal sea harvesting.

The venue of the project is a small island called Villa in the municipality Flatanger in the middle part of Norway.

There is an old lighthouse (est. 1839) on Villa and a part of the project is also to help the local accustom association restore parts of the tower.

The area is famous for population of sea eagles, sea farming and deep sea fishing and it is the right place to be aware of the need to take care of the sea and the environment.

The project will end with an exhibition about the moments from the exchange. If you would like more information check out catch a fish group on facebook
