Chemical guinea pigs.
In March 2014 I came up with the idea for doing a project about legal highs as I was shocked that there wasn’t really any information for young people. So I decided that I might try and educate people myself. I formed a group with the Phoenix detached youth project and started generating ideas and researching legal highs, we went up to Edinburgh to visit a drugs project which specialises on drugs information and advice and they also said there is not a lot of information out there for young people. We got their opinions and we came to a conclusion that making a film would be best to educate young people effectively.
A year on and our film is complete! It has been a very eventful year, talking to new people hearing their stories and opinions on legal highs and one thing for sure that everyone agrees on is that legal highs are not safe. We worked with Robin Fry, using his fabulous equipment and his skills to make this idea come to life. We are hoping to take this film into schools, youth groups where ever young people are, and we hope that it will make a lot of difference and help young people understand what legal highs are and what to do in an emergency. I have loved doing this project and I can’t wait to see what more with come of this.
The film is now on the Phoenix Detached Youth Project facebook page.

I’d like to thank everyone who has helped this project come to life!
