VIC Intergen High tea and arts and crafts session

We have had the privilege of working in partnership with Norham School and some of their students who are part of a group called VIC (Very important Carers). They have been using the Keyfund to raise money to participate in activities. For their second stage project they wanted to do something for elderly people in the community even though they could have spent the money on themselves. They chose to raise money to provide a high tea and arts and crafts session for 15 people from Chirton Lodge. This was a fantastic event which was enjoyed by everyone. In addition to the resident who came down to the lounge the young people offered room service to those unable to attend which included a plate of afternoon tea and some art and crafts. In total 26 residents benefited.

"Every one of our tenants had a fabulous afternoon and they all felt thoroughly spoilt. All the youths were extremely polite and attentive, and the day could not have gone any better. Thank you to everyone involved in the planning, it was not an easy task and I know the youths have been working really hard on this project over the last few months and I personally would not hesitate in working with them again, and same goes for our customers here at Chirton Lodge.
