Summer Week 1

Helping hands at the zoo

Well its started again, the 6 weeks holidays, instead of updating with different activities, we are aiming to give you a weekly update with all the exciting things we have done.

Week one started with a bang with loads of fun stuff happening

Monday saw us taking the parents group out on an activity. We were hoping to do mini golf but due to bad weather

Tuesday was the day one of our helping hands groups visited Edinburgh Zoo. they had an amazing time seeing all the different animals and also getting to visit somewhere new.

Wednesday saw the start of the construction scheme. This saw a group of young people working together on team building skills and rock climbing.

thursday was a busy but fund day since i got to spend most of it in a wetsuit. While we had one group working on a music project, we also got to spend the afternoon Coasteering with the sports development team and the young people we do partnership work with. they loved exploring the coast and scrambling through caves and stuff. This was followed by a kayaking session down at Cullercoats with a newer group of young men. they had a great time playing games in the kayaks and doing little competitions.

Friday was a less activity based day with us getting out on the streets and doing some detached and catching up with groups we havent seen in a while
