The weekend of th 10th of november saw our last residential of 2017 take place in the beautiful beadnell bay. this year has seen the pdyp spend 15 nights away on residental with groups as varied as parents groups, organ awareness, sports development, and generic pdyp groups.
The weekend saw us take the Meadowell seadogs up to seahouses for a couple of days of kayaking.
friday was a late start by the time everyone got to the pdyp from work. By the time we did the shop and loaded the kayaks it was about 7:30pm when we set off. When we arrived those of us who hadnt already eaten made food while everyone else chilled. This was followed by a night walk and then a reasonable bed time of 12am.
Saturday saw an early start as the wind was meant to get stronger as the day went on. The Morning was spent surfing the kayaks in the waves of beadnell bay, with one lad managing to ride the face of the wave.
`after a quick shower it was off to explore Bamburgh castle. The lads found the history and riches of the castle interesting and spend a few hours exploring what was there.
After a quick snack pit stop it was time for some sand sledding. as well as tring the well established his, the lads also went exploring the other dunes, just goes to show your never too old to use the sleds.
the evening meal saw the lads making chicken fajitas, with some unfortunate lads finding extra chillies in theirs. the evening was spent chilling watching a movie before everyone went to bed early.
Sunday we were up bright and early to get a quick surf session in, sadly the cold defeated some of the lads quickly but it was still a fun session. after this it was back to the house for a breakfast before packing everything up and leaving about mid day.
