Completing the Circle Project

Phoenix Detached Youth Project

We have been on an exciting journey over the last two years, with Martin and Phil from Note Studios/ Access Music. These two rock and roll icons of North Shields, are passionate to develop exciting opportunities for local young people who often have limited resources to enable them to access high quality tuition and musical experiences. We have worked in partnership with Access Music, and Norham High School, to raise funding from North Tyneside Council, and The Tyne and Wear Community Foundation (Chapman Fund ). This is to work with a range of local young people, refugees, young parents, pupils with additional needs from Norham School, and marginalized young people. The aim is to use music to improve young peoples mental well being, after supporting young people with food and fuel poverty this allows us to improve young peoples resilience and well being completing the circle.

"There is poverty and sometimes lack of opportunity and it can be difficult to find a way out especially living in an area where there is a lot of competition for employment and this means people get down and they become less resilient. Young people can become isolated and feel depressed. ( Young Person)
