Week 3

Geordies on a surf Mission

Phew, week 3 was a hectic one. It was a nonstop adventure involving the perfect trio of sun, sea and surf.

We kicked things off on monday with the construction scheme going paddle boarding. While there the lads had a laugh trying to swap borads and do loads of other daft games. Meanwhile we took the kawaii Potatoes up to beadnell. They had a fun afternoon playing games before an early tea and a kayak session while the sun was setting. The group loved being away and being able to hangout together.

tuesday saw the Kawaii potatoes come back while the Healthy Organ group went up. While there the Healthy organs tried some Geordie Surfing which involved flying down the sand dunes on the sleds. It was a good laugh and a real leg workout for them. After that the group kitted up and went for a kayak session round the rocks, bobbing between the different rocks and exploring the coast. After this they went for their evening meal and a night time walk along the beach, although sadly the clouds covered the stars.

Wednesday saw the Healthy Organs come back and the young mums and kids group go up. While there they went rockpooling and playing on the beach. It was also one of the kids 1st birthday so they had a little party for them.

thursday saw the Parents come back and the final group of lads go up. The lads were full of energy so alongside the geordie surfing and kayaking they also spent time burying each other in the sand. They had great fun playing hide and seek in the house and enjoyed sausage and bacon sandwiches for breakfast. after this we set them about cleaning the house before we packed up and left late on the friday morning.

Residential week is always a tiring but rewarding one for us. We had the fortune of getting to spend time with 25 different young people. We would lso like to thank adventure holidays for use of the house for the week and also Norham High School for use of their Minibus, allowing us to take different groups up while others were coming back
